Crochet Mood Blanket 2015 – Update

It’s been a while since I posted an update about my Crochet Mood Blanket 2015. I recently finished the 7th row (each 18 granny squares) and took a picture of how the blanket looks right now..

You can see that most colours are repetitive since I decided on a color code (explained in this blog post) and for the most part I’m going by that, maybe just using 2 or 3 colours if my day has been that mood-swingy 🙂 However there are a few squares that have a completely different colour range, those are special squares because the days were special, for instance my birthday. I really like it that way, because I can spot those special squares immediately and also know right away what they are and why I put them there.

As for the daily crocheting of a granny square it’s going quite well. It’s almost part of my daily routine by now. There was one time where I had to catch up over a few days because we were on a family vacation and I didn’t crochet any squares, but just noted down which colour that day was.

Excited to see how the blanket will look with another few rows added – going to post an update then 🙂

Crochet Mood Blanket 2015 – Update

So far it’s going well! I have had a few days where I wasn’t sure which colour to pick to sum up the whole day, because let’s face it: moods change throughout the day *mood swings* So I decided to always go for the mood that kinda dominated the day OR as you can see in some cases: I just used 2 colours for a square.

Crochet Mood Blanket 2015 – week 1

YAY, the first week of my Crochet Mood Blanket 2015 is done!! It almost has something therapeutic to sit down at the end of each day and crochet a granny square in the mood-fitting colour.

It started with the light green square because I was quite determined at the start of the new year (still am!!)

1. determination (personal)
2. blessed & loved with my beautiful baby girl who was in cuddle mood
3. productive making a little something for a friend
4. HAPPY (highlight of my week) at baby swimming class ❤
5. a little worried, a little pensive, a little chaotic (personal)
6. mildly grouchy & upset about husband taking down the Christmas tree – I love those lights!
7. feeling okay ….

Since I will have 18 squares go across, next weeks part will be joined right onto this first week. Quite exciting to see all the blocks come together!

Crochet Mood Blanket 2015 – here’s the plan!

I saw so many wonderful crafters who made a Crochet Mood Blanket 2014, that I decided to join the fun and challenge myself to making on in 2015.

The concept is simple: crochet a granny square a day according to your mood
What design to use for your granny square and what colours you assign to what mood is totally up to you. Some don’t assing any colours or yarn/wool at all and just decide as they go along.

Here’s the plan I made in my ‘handmade journal’ for my Crochet Mood Blanket 2015
It’s pretty self-explanatory, but I just want to add that I might take another hue of a colour, depending on my mood – for example: violet = funky, chaotic etc…but I might take a lighter shade of purple or even a darker one if I feel like it – as long as it’s stilla  violet/purple colour! Just makes the blanket even more diverse and colourful 🙂 I want to update my progress here on the blog, but havn’t decided on an update-pattern, maybe weekly, maybe bi-weekly maybe once a month…we’ll see.

Can’t wait to start come January 1st!!

Getting into the mood『blogtober 2014』

My blog and I, we had a little talk. Together we came to the conclusion that we’re in the mood for a little more action around here. This means I will try and blog a little more, make this blog of mine a little ‘cozier me space’. What better motivation to get a (hopfully) fun blogging-feel going than a blog-challenge, aye ?!

I found this blog challenge here on . Really liking all the prompts and am now excited to start with

Day 1 – ‘If you won the lottery you’d…’

fix up my grandma’s old shabby house top to bottom. A few of it has been done but my mum’s financial funds are limited. My grandma is very old (over 80) and I’m not sure for how many more years she’ll be around, but if I’d have enough money I’d still try and make her last years as comfortable as possible, so the house would not only get fixed up but also made eldery-friendly.

….do a nice, long trip to Japan once our little girl is 6 months old (she’s a little over 2 months at the moment) & a cruise around Iceland. Are there even any Iceland-cruises, I’m not sure, but  hey I think a lottery win could buy that.

put the rest in the bank or somewhere remotely “safe” for future investments or things our daughter would need money for.

Yay, I did it! The first blogtober-post is done! Now, being a new mum and all might make it a little difficult to stick to the “blog post every day” thing, but hey – that’s the challenge after all and I accepted!
